Sometimes an idea for a new business unexpectedly pops into an entrepreneur's mind. For Robert Holloman of Glen Allen, the idea came while he browsed through a Virginia Tech alumni magazine. Holloman, a Virginia Tech graduate who owns an engineering consulting firm, noticed something was missing. Virginia Tech logos showed up on a variety of advertised products such as T-shirts, baseball caps and sweatshirts. But what about sneakers? Holloman was surprised to discover the magazine's logo-laden ads were sneaker-free. "What are the young kids wearing today? Sneakers," he said. "How can you not sell logos on sneakers?" As Robert Holloman was flipping through his Virginia Tech Alumni magazine last fall, he noticed that something was missing among all of the tee-shirts and hats. There weren't any sneakers.
